LT.Div8. Chapter 58

A Piece of String That Makes Necklace with Beads

"What's my deficiency?"
"You are deficient in Basics."

When you do Taekwondo you should understand Musool at first. When you practice techniques in the process of understanding Musool, if you advance to the level of technique for technique itself over that for certain objectives, then you can understand Muyae. It is an expression and an art. When you see Musool is not different from Muyae and recognize there is something over the distinction finally knowing that it doesn't differ from all different kinds of trivial truths either, you will understand Mudo, and so, the entire Taekwondo.

Taekwondo has various figures, and thus, it has various techniques. Therefore, you try this one and also that one. In this way you come to know everything is same and, on the other hand, also that you have to stick to your pursuit of one technique. You have to reconcile your <Ki> with your sword and body in Kendo just as you should reconcile your <Ki> with your hand&foot and body in Taekwondo; the counterattack of Tai-Chi Chuan in its circular motion of accepting opponent's attack is on the same basis of your counter back kick(Dui-Chagi) in Taekwondo competition; and the basic principle you rely on to strike a ball with elastic force of waist in vollyball game is same one you follow to make Dollyeo Chagi in turning of waist in Taekwondo.

You will come to realize always that it is the best to make your own one skill perfect whatever it might be than to try all of these or those techniques by a little, and that is enough always. For it is possible to be skilled in a technique only through many repetitions and practices and everyone has limited time to use. After you master one skill in this manner you can apply another techniques along the same principle. By the way, it is really difficult to realize this before you try various experiences of numerous techniques.
