"I intend to train Taekwondo, but I come to stop."
"Taekwondo cannot be strong with confused life."
What is the tide that appears when Sky and Man united? Tide is to show out the spirit and its flow that come from accumulation of world's changes, and the world's changes include the relationships of you and your opponent, of you and the world, and of the opponent and the world. Therefore, the tide is the mode of general motions and flows that you and your opponent belong to. You as a Taekwondo man ought to be able to make a proper accumulation of your tide and its radiation whenever you want and you should not go against the opponent's tide but get a ride in it to cut its flow down.
Then what should the tide of Taekwondo be like? In case that you have the best tide of Taekwondo, you should have the spirit overwhelming a huge mountain once you begin while sinking yourself deep under the sea once hidden. And when in a hurry your tide should be able to sweep even a big rock off like a landfall while when tender it should embrace everything like a warm wind in the spring. When fierce it should look like a sharp knife while when soft it must feel like light cotton. When firm it should never be moved by anything like the calm earth while when flexible it should follow every turn like a new born leaf. And all of these can be obtained when you are united into the nature with no againstness. You can control all of these with the accordance of its tempo and your breath.
Discussing the tide in the relation between you and your opponent, it should be like the followings; when your opponent is in a coercive tide you must not fight it but wait in tenderness till he gets exhausted and when he is in a flexible and soft tide, you scatter its core with your sharp attack. And when he waits you overwhelm before he gets ready, when he is in sharp tide you, avoiding his attack, drag and delay on him to make it dull. It is, however, better to keep yourself all ready always with your arranged tide so that you can stop and beat out his tide before it begins whenever you face him, and it is best to unify your and his tide, riding the whole tide to do what you want to do.
This kind of right tide in Taekwondo, when you realized, cannot be obtained merely through your desire to start your tide in a sudden yet should be accumulated in a form of your possibility only when you train your mind and body in all your life. Therefore, everybody should know that the tide he can make in Taekwondo is not different from his own habitual figure. No one can surpass the better in his deceptive tide and no tide of those who do not obey the changes of nature can wait till his opponent gets exhausted. Taekwondo man, who knows all of these, never stops training in his life to the completion of himself.
